How to make Tangy Fish Fry

  • Step 1

    To make this mouth-watering non-vegetarian recipe, wash the fish fillets thoroughly. Apply salt and lime juice all over and keep aside for 15-20 minutes for marination.

  • Step 2

    Meanwhile, take a small bowl and mix together carom seeds, white pepper powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, gram flour, ginger-garlic paste and white vinegar. Add a little water at a time to prepare a thick batter.

  • Step 3

    Once the batter is ready, coat the fish fillets with this besan batter and let them marinate for another 20 minutes.

  • Step 4

    Finally, put a kadhai or a skillet on medium to high flame and start heating oil in it. When the oil is hot enough, add the these marinated fillets in the oil and fry until they turn golden brown in color.

  • Step 5

    Once the desired color is obtained, turn off the flame and transfer them to a plate. Sprinkle some chaat masala over the fried fillets and serve hot! (Optional: You can also squeeze a lemon over the fillets for more tanginess.)
