Navratri is a time to go into complete festive mode and go on a gluttony-spree with all the delightfully tasty dishes surrounding you. There’s a lot to binge on like Carrot Payasam, Sweet Potato Ladoos, Suran Chips and what not. Here is another such dish named Singhare Ka Halwa, which is scrumptious beyond imagination. The cooking process is just like your regular halwa recipe, just that it is made from water chestnut flour or singhare ka atta. Yes, we know it is absolutely irresistible! This tempting halwa would be loved by people of all ages and will be an instant hit in your household.

How to make Singhare Ka Halwa

  • Step 1

Take a frying pan and heat 3 tablespoons ghee in it. Pour in singhare ka atta (water chetnut flour), cook it over medium flame for around 5 minutes until it starts looking brown.

  • Step 2

While the flour is being cooked, boil 2 cups of water in a small deep-bottomed pan. Once boiled, pour this water into the pan containing the roasted flour and stir continuously to avoid lumps. Keep stirring and cook until the mixture thickens to form a mass.

  • Step 3

Now stir in cardamom powder and sugar. Mix really well to dissolve the sugar completely and get an even flavour. When the halwa begins to leave the sides, add the rest of the oil to it and mix.

  • Step 4

Your singhare ka halwa is ready to eat. Just garnish it with dry fruits of your choice and serve hot
