Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif didn’t acknowledge Priyanka Chopra’s mother?

It has been more than a week but reports of Salman Khan being upset with Priyanka Chopra for walking out of Bharat refuse to die down. It was on July 27 that Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed in a tweet that Priyanka had walked out of her big Bollywood comeback Bharat in the “Nick of time”. Fresh reports now claim that Salman is so angry at Priyanka that he refused to acknowledge her mother, Madhu Chopra, at Manish Malhotra’s fashion show.

A Spotoye report said that the incident allegedly happened at the fashion show where Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were showstoppers. The website quotes a source as saying, “Madhu Chopra reached the venue at 9.30 pm and went backstage to congratulate Manish for his show. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were right there prepping for their impending walk. However, the moment the superstar saw Chopra approach, he turned away and began talking to the actress. In fact, even Katrina didn’t acknowledge her presence.”

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were the showstoppers at Manish Malhotra’s fashion show.

However, both Madhu and Salman’s father Salim Khan have dismissed the news of a rift. Talking to media, Madhu said earlier, “You people (media) only make such stuff up, Salman is not upset with her.”

Earlier, Salman’s father Salim Khan had also insisted, “Nope, it’s not the nth hour. And I repeat, such things happen- sometimes they happen for date issues, or the role, or even the money aspect. Aur kabhi aadmi ki kuch apni majbooriyan hoti hai. I haven’t yet got into the details of why Priyanka left Bharat, but we shall soon cast someone else. We are not upset with Priyanka. Salman Khan is also not upset.”

Ali Abbas’ tweet had earlier hinted that Priyanka may have walked out of the Salman Khan film because of her reported engagement with Nick Jonas. The actor, however, has signed two new projects – a Hollywood film with Chris Pratt and Shonali Bose’s The Sky is Pink. Katrina Kaif replaced Priyanka in Bharat later.
