Actor Madhavan and Shraddha Srinath are set to work together after Vikram Vedha. Their onscreen chemistry was off-the-charts in the film and received appreciation, especially the song Yaanji Yaanji. Now, the actors will work in a romantic drama titled Maara. The film is being helmed by a debutante director, Dhilip Kumar, whose short film Kalki received appreciation from critics.
Speaking about the project to Times of India, Dhilip said, “After a very long time, Madhavan is acting in a pure romance drama. He has done the Tanu Weds Manu films in Hindi, but in those, he had to act passive. This one will be a very charming character.”
He also explained that he did not consciously try to get them to work together or recreate their onscreen chemistry from Vikram Vedha. He explained, “Actually, we were considering if we have to cast the same pair. But their romantic track was only a part of that film, and we are not banking on that anyway. Mainly, the female protagonist’s character has got a lot to do with how Shraddha is in real life. It’s a character that is mature, and Madhavan’s is also in the same vein.”
The film is about two mature people finding love and how they enjoy the simple things in life together, revealed Dhilip. The film will have music scored by Ghibran and the additional screenplay is written by Bipin.
